Start off your morning with amazing CBD Coffee from SteepFuze.

The New Mountain Blend combines three of our favorite Arabica coffees from around the world. We begin with a Brazilian backbone from the Saquarema farm high in the mountains of Poços de Caldas just north of São Paulo. This washed Bourbon varietal brings big overtones of chocolate and caramel to this full bodied robust blend. Next we add a rare wet processed Bugisu coffee from near the famed Sipi Falls on Mt. Elgon in Uganda. This lighter bodied coffee builds on the chocolate notes adding a mild acidy and hints of burnt sugar. Finally, to complete the structure of the coffee, we blend in some of our Sidamo. The dry processed Ethiopian heirloom bean adds the sweet flavor of blueberries and some high notes of delicate apricot. The three varietals are roasted individually to a Medium Viennese roast to create a rich bold cup while preserving the lighter, sweeter flavor notes that enhance this round robust blend.

Steepfuze is a gourmet small batch infused coffee and tea company  founded in Boulder, Colorado on 2014. They partner with local specialty roasters to craft whole bean coffee infused with full-spectrum CBD extract derived from organically grown Colorado hemp. Our secret lies in our process: directly infusing the coffees oils naturally expressed during the roast!

Brewing Instructions:

-Begin with 1/2 oz. (2 heaping Tbsp) coffee per 8 oz. water (about a 1:16 ratio of coffee to water)
-Use water just off the boil – about 195°F – 205°F
-Choose the desired grind for your brewing method, and grind freshly before brewing (perhaps one of the most critical steps to brewing great coffee)
-Store in an airtight, opaque container, in a cool, dry place

 

**We don’t recommend cold brews or using ultra-thick paper filters (we like stainless mesh filters!). Cold brews don’t extract oils from the grounds, and thick paper filters remove most of the oils from the cup. Cold brews and thick filters produce delicious cups of coffee, but ones without much of the CBD oil we’ve infused into the coffee beans.

 

But don’t fret!  We also love pour-overs, so we use stainless mesh filters with our Chemex. The thin paper AeroPress filters work well, but we also occasionally swap in a stainless disc to change it up.

And when the weather beckons, we brew the coffee hot and then chill it – getting the most of the oils! An espresso machine or french press (or the elusive Turkish and Bali-style methods if you’re feeling up to it) are some favorite ways to brew CBD infused coffees. When we brew for big events, we use stainless mesh baskets for drip or percolation.
